I Am Spirit
I can sail on every ocean,
I can swim in any sea.
No mountain or hill top,
Can now conquer me.
See me fly like an eagle,
Glide on the breeze.
Nothing can stop me,
I go where I please.
I am spirit I am me;
This happy entity.
I am spirit I am free,
For all eternity.
I will enter your dreams,
Watch you from above.
I’m always beside you,
With sheltering love.
I’m the warm rush of air,
So gentle on your skin.
Whenever you need me,
You’ll feel me within.
I am spirit I am me;
This happy entity.
I am spirit I am free,
For all eternity.

Prayer for Peace
Close your eye’s to see me,
do not judge me, as your eye’s survey.
Close your eye’s to know me,
And don’t let prejudice block your way.
Close our eyes together,
And pray for peace to rule the world.
People all united,
With loving arms unfurled.

Together
All of the hearts of our ancestors beat in the hope that we have. The wish that we hold is many-fold and tribal.
Facets of the past shimmer in the fast approach of our futures:
And we,
Have no option but to listen and action a peace.
Timeless and spirit and part of this cosmos I hear all the sounds of the suffering; the aches of the hearts and it all is within us with tomorrow and.
We all hold the knowledge that all hate will pass. You are the catalyst of it.
Glimmering in the memory of all who have travelled into positive.
Love in the light tells us we strive. We strive. We strive hard together.
They are in us and the now that is better is here in the agelessness of it.
All of the hearts of our ancestors beat in the hope that we have.
The wish that we hold is many-fold and tribal.
Facets of the past shimmer in the fast approach of our futures:
And we,
Have no option but to listen and action a peace.
It is now.

Her Slight Touch
A touch on my arm
arrested my movement.
Its pressure lingered,
a prolonged present,
a longed for
presence,
arresting the moment's passing.
Her familiar hand
unseen, familiarly
renewing love.
There was no doubting it.
The moment stood aside
and held.........
It held me
more than any other moment
since her passing.
As a late winter inevitably vanquished
means summer's onset is sudden,
the world seemed light,
warm, clear,
summer-enhanced suddenly.
There burst into my mind
perceptions of great clarity,
neither surreal nor unreal,
but supremely real,
of great moment.
So long unknown, obscured!
Her slight touch,
I once took for granted,
revolved memory,
granting promise and expectation.
It was as if
my whole life
had been leading to that touch,
and everything after would lead from it.
I surrendered to it.
Hope, joy, love, warmth,
a lightness of being....
It seemed somehow inevitable.
It was irresistible,
inestimably desired,
now inestimable.

Here is the poem I've been promising to send you for the website. It was written by medium May Park and comes fron her book of the same title "So you want to be a Medium" published by Harp Press. I found this book to be very informative with an underlying humour, but that does not deter from her message that being a medium is not an easy pathway to take! Enjoy!
You Want to be a Medium?
So you want to be a medium, working in the church,
Hoping that your Spirit friends won't leave you in the lurch.
You want to stand on platform before the congregation,
Feeling proud and happy that you've made communication.
Well, let me give you warning before this path you take,
It's not all wine and roses and there's no fortune to make.
Sometimes you will be challenged, your words fall on deaf ears,
Your links are not accepted. All these will be real fears.
To some you'll seem eccentric, to others not too bright,
And no matter what the evidence, they won't admit you're right.
Some churches treat you warmly; tea and cakes may come your way,
At some you'll only get a drink if you queue up and pay.
Churches pay expenses, but some methods do not please,
When they pay you from collection plates in ten and twenty P's.
But you must greet adversaries with a loving heart and smile,
Knowing that your Spirit friends are with you all the while.
Then when you're all alone once more, with nobody to care,
Send apologies to Spirit,
And have a damned good SWEAR!!
Hope all you budding platform mediums out there enjoy this,
Tracey

Timeless Love
For a Soulmate Beyond the Veil
This poem takes as its background lines in Shakespeare's Sonnet No 116: "Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments...", recited at her funeral.
Love is the harmony of twinned souls
United at their sacred centre we call heart.
There is no stronger human bond than this.
Were all else to dissolve,
It would be tolerable.
There is no greater prize
Than its climactic communion
No guest can fathom or sip.
Love is the health of souls
Now wondrously enabled to reveal
Each other's infinity,
To exalt each humble other to a god
By gifts and gestures we deem divine.
Here is the immutable rock
All doubts may lean on;
The house of peace
That ever welcomes our return.
Time's scythe did not remove you
Gracious soul.
You are closer now,
Encountered in inner silence,
Blissful solitude,
Where no storms come.
You bar impediments
To the hopeful expectation
Reason cannot discern.
Be humbled rational mind.
Step back nimble weaver of analyses,
Devourer of dialectical contradictions,
Your cleverness is suspect.
Yield pride of place.
Mediate in mid orbit.
Love is the soul's heart,
You would usurp.
Nor can you sense
The soul's outer, infinite dimensions.
Capricious, you were never true.
Married to nothing,
You admitted all impediments
To insight's illumination.
Trundle as you will
Through pastures new,
You will create no abiding city,
Reach no heaven-haven of joy.
Love, whose probity is sure,
The soul's true centre,
Holds secure.
Exchange of loving feeling,
Gladness, tenderness, care,
Continues still,
Is my redeemer.
You, constant star,
Bring comfort to the night.
There is no fear.
No lassitude will trip
Expectant reckoning to despair.
Though all around is insecure,
This love is timeless, it does endure.
It is the soul's great light,
A beacon in the dark.
As love, it IS an ever-fixèd mark.

Miss Me and Let Me Go
When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared!
Miss me - but let me go.
For this is a journey that we must all take,
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely, and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me - but let me go.
This anonymous poem, whom several people have tried to claim as their own, probably dates from around the time of The First World War. Linda read it at our service on Remembrance Sunday. It is a poem she is fond of and she said that she has asked to have it read at her own funeral, as it is an uplifting poem. A better world than this one awaits us after the change we call death. As Spiritualists we know this, so we can understand why this poem is urging us to be happy for the friends and loved-ones who have to take their leave of us, rather than be sad for ourselves.

A Special Place
There is a special place in life,
That needs my humble skill,
A certain job I'm meant to do,
Which no one else can fulfill.
The time will be demanding,
And the pay is not too good
And yet I wouldn't change it
for a moment -- even if I could.
There is a special place in life,
A goal I must attain,
A dream that I must follow,
Because I won't be back again.
There is a mark that I must leave,
However small it seems to be,
A legacy of love for those
Who follow after me.
There is a special place in life,
That only I may share,
A little path that bears my name,
Awaiting me somewhere.
There is a hand that I must hold,
A word that I must say,
A smile that I must give
For there are tears to blow away.
There is a special place in life
that I was meant to fill.
A sunny spot where flowers grow,
upon a windy hill.
There's always a tomorrow and
the best is yet to be,
And somewhere in this world,
I know there is a place for me.

Make the Most of Today
Today, like every other day,
we wake up empty and frightened.
Don't open the door to the study and begin reading.
Take down a musical instrument.
Let the beauty we love be what we do.
There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

Death in Perspective
On the day I die, when I'm being carried
toward the grave, don't weep. Don't say,
He's gone! He's gone. Death has nothing
to do with going away. The sun sets and
the moon sets, but they're not gone.
Death is a coming together. The tomb
looks like a prison, but it's really
release into union. The human seed goes
down in the ground like a bucket into
the well where Joseph is. It grows and
comes up full of some unimagined beauty.
Your mouth closes here and immediately
opens with a shout of joy there.
Jalaluddin Rumi - Sufi - 13th century

Worthy Thoughts
The love that guides us through the day, still guides us through the night.
And when we walk the Spirit way, God makes our darkness light.
The gentle love that leads us on soothes the lonely heart
For truth will dawn on everyone who seeks the veil to part.
Just bring the songs of peace and love that all around may hear.
Welcome the souls from heaven above who seek to draw so near.
The love they bring is true and clear and from them the light will shine.
A brightness which is strong and clear, yet old as Father Time.
May the giving and receiving of God's own healing powers
Reveal to us the meaning of Spirit's timeless hours
Of peace and harmony within to ease our pain and sorrow.
May healing love begin today and bring content tomorrow.
Alice - 1997
